Programs You Don't Want to Miss at SYP!

Each year the Michigan Tech Summer Youth Program offers a growing number of competitive scholarship programs for middle and high school students. With spring upon us, our April 1 deadline is approaching to apply for several of these camps. Each program offers unique challenges, lessons and experiences for students that they won't want to miss.

Here are the programs with deadlines approaching April 1:

Each year we receive grant and scholarship funding to provide highly competitive scholarship programs for talented young men and women. Students are selected for these programs on a competitive basis. To apply for a scholarship program, choose the program you are interested in and complete the application form. Submit your application along with a teacher recommendation, your unofficial transcript, and your responses to the short essay questions. 


The Women in Engineering program runs June 19 - 25, 2016 and offers an opportunity to explore various fields of engineering through hands-on projects and classroom investigations.


The Engineering Scholars Program runs June 26 - July 2, 2016 and provides a chance for students to expore fields of engineering, real labs, interact with leaders, hands-on projects, hear from role model speakers and more.


The Women in Computer Science program is offered June 26 - July 2, 2016 and is a discovery of computing! Experience programming, artificial intelligence, robotics, virtual reality, visualization and hear about career opportunities from role model speakers.

Our selection committee takes into consideration the classes you've taken, your GPA, your teachers' recommendations, and your essay responses. Be sure to submit all aspects of the application in order to be considered.
